The Department of Microbiome Science at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology is currently recruiting students and post-docs to work in the areas of host-microbial and microbe-microbe interactions, mostly in the gut, with a strong focus on genomics and molecular interactions. Members of the laboratory have diverse backgrounds, from anaerobic microbiology to biochemistry and computational biology. We form an inter-disciplinary and highly collaborative team where students acquire training in both wetlab and computational biology.
We are currently building up teams in several areas, from studying interactions within microbial consortia identified through our human gut diversity studies to assessing biogeographical patterns of microbiota across the globe.
